I took the SAT this year and I got 2310 (750 R, 770 W, 790 M) and I was really happy with this grade.

However my parents said that I should do the SAT again because it may not be good enough to get into some colleges. Is this true? And would it be good if I take it again?

You do NOT need to take it again. Ever. A 2310 is a phenomenal score and certainly won’t keep you out of any college. Use those extra four hours to work on something more important, like volunteering, extracurriculars, or sleeping. =)

Thanks for the advice guys. Just wondering, which subject tests would be good to take? I was thinking of Bio Math II and Chinese (it isn’t my native language).

2310 is brilliant!! Hope I get the something around that!!

And @eoaynn People i spoke to (I got a 2180) told me to write it again as applying to the top colleges with that score would be a long shot unless you’ve got national/international recognition for your EC’s or something else which is brilliant!!

@gabby135 You should choose your subject tests keeping in mind the school you are applying to… some schools (engineering in particular) has specific requirements! And btw…are you a HS Junior or Senior?

Thanks everyone for your advice! I’ll probably not take it again anyway, i’m really happy with the score (: And I’ll focus more on the subjects tests now. I was thinking of doing Bio, Math II and Chinese (it isn’t my native language). What do yall think?

@eoaynn, I think it depends on whether your section scores are lopsided or constant. If you had 800, 800, and 600 I would definitely retake, but if you had 730, 730, and 740 it wouldn’t be essential. It honestly depends on whether you think you can improve and if you think it’s worth it. I never considered retaking my 2270, even if I could bring it up to 2300 I don’t think it really makes a big difference.

My sbuscores were 760 Writing, 760 CR, and 710 Math. Should I retake and attempt for a higher math score, or have I reached the point of no returns?
