I work at a supermarket roughly 20 hours per week. Have worked pretty steadily throughout high school. Some summers only, but average 15-20 hours per week for the most part.

Raised by single dad all my life. Pretty quiet and reserved; not too outgoing; good musician, too.

I applied ED to Univ. of Penn. College of Arts and Sciences. What do you think my chances are? Where else would be good to apply?

Thanks!

_____________________________(bottom line) = Congratulations!

...99.9?

I hate u

and how the **** do 8 people have GPA's higher than 99.9?

I hate him too but i covered up my feelings....until now...I HATE U!!!! lol just kidding.....the ranking also depends on the level of the courses you are taking. For example a person with a 4.0 GPA can be taking all regular courses while another 4.0 person could be taking all AP courses.

also gpas vary by schools so that could depend.. i dont think its possible to have a gpa of higher than a 98 at my school.. its like REALLY impressive to have a gpa of like a 93 at my school bc thats soo hard to achieve.. your sats scores are very impressive though and colleges will look at what classes you took and the rigor of your school to determine if your gpa was really hard to achieve.. you definitely have a great chance though

You have a good shot at ANY school, ANY where.

A 99.9? Nice. My school's scale only goes to a 100 and the number one in our class has a 103. So unfair. But I think you have a shot. Go for it.

Sorry for seeming boa****l, which I am sincerely not. We went for a visit at Penn, and the rep told us that they reject kids with 2300-2400 all the time. It depends on so much more than that. Then a parent said he heard that Penn will automatically reject kids with SAT scores lower than 2280. The rep said that was not completely accurate. Therefore, I asked my question. And wieghted courses do push the top kids over a 100% GPA.

Again, sorry if anyone was insulted by the way I posed or phrased my question. No harm was intended -- at all.

Thanks for the useful input.
