2340 + 3.4 ?

<p>What are my chances?</p>

<p>GPA: 3.4 at some of the toughest schools in the Boston 'burbs
(All honors, two AP classes so far, 4-5 next year)</p>

<p>Hardest Classes pretty much</p>

<p>SAT I : 780 in everything
= 2340</p>

<p>SAT II :
800 Math II
760 Chem
760 US Hist</p>

<p>AP:
5 US Hist
5 Bio
4 English Lit</p>

<p>My extracurriculars are not strong</p>

<p>I play the violin (played, i quit 2 years ago)
i can do senior districts next year, but so far nada (im pretty sure i can get in next year)
i won a couple competitions here in Mass
i can make a CD for college (will they even listen to this??)</p>

<p>uhh i did varsity wrestling frosh year, i can do it again senior year
(CAN, maybe won't)</p>

<p>that's pretty much it
oh i got the national merit thing too</p>

<p>Yeah you definitely need to bring that GPA up first semester. The AVERAGE GPA of students entering vanderbilt is a 4.0, and even with your stellar test scores the admissions office might view you as a very bright individual who is a slacker, and they don't want that. The lack of ec's also hurts. I would say Vandy is a low reach for you, a high match if you can bring your GPA up a bit</p>
