2370 SAT - There is no point in me retaking the ACT right?

Alright so I scored a 2370 SAT - 800CR 770M 800W. I took the ACT the day after a summer camp and I was absolutely exhausted, but I somehow got a 34 ACT. I didn't prep beforehand, so my question is, is (prepping) and retaking worth it? I'm confident that I can score at least a 35 but I'm assuming that only a 36 would make it worth it. But even in that case, is it that much different? My first thought was no way would I take the ACT again, but i'd like to help out my application in any way possible.

Thank you guys!

A 2370 is more impressive than a 36. A 2400 and a 36 are not equivilant, a 36 is more equivalent to a score range, which you would be towards the top of. Also, above a certain level, differences are negligible. Nowhere that will not admit you now would admitt you because you got a 2400/36

I agree that there is no significant admissions benefit to be attained by scoring a 36 on the ACT in addition to your already high SAT score. Any rejections will not be properly attributable to an SAT/ACT score deficiency. The same could be accurately said for a student who scored 36 on the ACT but did not take the SAT, despite the previous poster’s questionable suggestion that a 2370 is more impressive than a 36.

Congratulations on your achievement.

I was very happy to check my thread and see a response from Silverturtle! I’d like to go ahead and thank you for the work that you’ve put in helping others (and now me) here on CC, and congratulate you too on your very, very impressive statistics.

Thanks to both of you, like I said I wasn’t too intent on taking the ACT but I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to boost my college apps. I’ll just sit on my SAT score like it is.

Maybe you should retake the SAT. Writing is the easiest section to improve on in my opinion. Also, colleges superscore the SAT, so it would be worth it even if you didn’t get 800s on the Math and CR as long as you get it on the Writing.
