2400 in SAT but...

currently in junior year, asian

SAT -2400 in january
PSAT -231

SAT II Korean 800
plan to take SAT II Chem/ IIC math/ physics

Straight As in freshman - sophmore year

2 Bs so far in Junior year with 8 periods with 4 aps and 1 honor (most take 6 periods, some 7, none have 8 periods to my knowledge)

no ranking system in our school

i predict around 4.4 gpa by this year

ECs-- main thing is piano... 1st place wins in 7+ competitions , few of them in international, national level (i can't name them in fear of revealing my name)
along with full-lenghth charity concerts and music lessons for the poor

officer in a major club, mostly likely president for next year

VP in a smaller club

a reporter for newspaper, maaaaaybe editor next year, but not too sure about that

other generic community services and whatnot

also have applied to some medical intership programs over this summer; not sure if i would make it or not

chances at stanford, top ivies, and straight medical programs (like at UCSD, Brown, Boston, Northwestern etc.)?

you wont get in anywhere. you got 2 b's. you might as well go to community college

hahahaah u forgot an important EC:
rezpecable SDC membah 8)

ahahahahah datz rite

you are probably going to be just an average applicant for HYPMS, for the "lower" ivies and other top schools though, you have a great shot

shoenberg3:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCSD: Safety

I disagree with BingCold, you'll be an above average applicant, but no guarantees. I hear about 50% of perfect scorers get in.

Yeah, colleges like to see the 2400's. Good luck!

thanks people!

Did you make this thread to boost your ego??

no i wanted real opinions and they gave me some

shoenberg3, I just wanted to elaborate because I hardly said anything haha. Two of my friends scored 2390 and 2400, but were rejected SCEA from Stanford. On the other hand, two of my other friends had 2280 and 2320, and were accepted SCEA to Stanford. The ones who were accepted really put their all into their essays, while the others just blew the application off, and crammed it in at the very last minute. Just make sure you have killer essays and pump your EC's. I'm sure you'll get in to some top colleges :)!

edit: by the way, did you create your username after the composer?

haha indeed, albeit a misspelling

but atonal music was cool for awhile but i am bit sick of it now ;)

actually, I think shoenberg is actually a very strong applicant for HYPS. If you are as strong in piano as you make it sound, I think you won't actually have that much trouble at the Ivies. However, schools with acceptance rates below 25% are generally too low for even the perfect applicant to count on. But definitely shoot for the best and you may even have a right to get your hopes up.

B, not one but 2 B'S!! B NOOOO NOO GOOD, ever listen to your mom? all a's only a's, a for awesome b for bad, c for crappy d for dad, f for effed over

good luck, you can go to de anza college and work full time mcd's, cause those b's wont' even make you an MC

what the heck...
is the two bs that critical?? yo mean only for ives, and top school or including uc..? cause i have a c... and i m sph and planning to go to uci ,ucsb, or ucd...

im kidding, i know tommy sung, so im just messing with his mind

sigh too late for that now though

haha who are you may i ask

you're such a stereotypical asian... piano??

well, that's just me
i sincerely like the instrument and i can say my parents never forced me into it

and i am just not willing to quit it for the sake of breaking the streotype
