Just thought I'd get everyone's opinion. What do you guys think is more impressive, 2400 SAT or 36 ACT composite?

2400 SAT score

2400 SAT, for sure.

2400 is king. no contest.

This is coming from someone who has only taken the ACT - 2400 is definitely more impressive imo.

Not at all a little biased there Choklit? :P

^ no. 36 is more common than 2400(450 vs. 300). not to mention that the SAT is taken by the wealthy students on the west coast and in the northeast, while the ACT is taken by those in middle america, where the college craze is decidedly less intense

2400 because for act you can get a 35 on 2 sections and still get a 36

ChoklitRain couldn't have said it any better.

2400 is the King of Standardized Test Scores.

Granted, I am incredibly biased and haven't taken the ACT, but what Choklit said...

Haha agreed. I just thought I'd ask everyone else's opinion. Anyone know how many people get a 2400 a year cause I could find the number of 36's but not 2400's.

^ fortify made the best point.

To get a 2400, not every section has to have a perfect raw score, but you have to at least beat the curve. On everything.

For the ACT, those two 35s can come in handy to pull a 36.

Though ACT's don't have a curve like the SAT's. As far as I can tell, each question is worth it's percentage of 36 so for everything but English (where 1 wrong is 35.52) 1 wrong is a 35 (since they round to the nearest whole number) so if you get 3 wrong 1 in each math, science, and reading, then you're down to a 35 while 3 wrong could still get you a 2400 on the SAT depending on the curve. However, having said that the questions I think are way harder on the SAT's and the fact that the SAT score also incorporates the essay which is very subjective, it makes it harder to score "perfect."

2400 by far.

2400

why? i've taken both, so im not that biased xD

another vote for 2400

2400 :) for sure...

2400 is clearly more impressive. I have taken both and I have gotten a 36 on the ACT, but I still yearn for the 2400. It doesn't really matter though, because at that point, your test scores aren't going to affect your chances of getting into college. If you are gonna get rejected with a 35, you are not going to have much better chances of getting accepted with a 36.

Imagine how impressive a perfect SAT score must have been before 1995 where they claim only 7 or 8 kids a year got above 1580.

^^ and then came.... The world of sparknotes and test prep :o

bewaaare.
