Well should I? I'm pretty sure I can get the bonus questions on the verbal section right for an all time high of 2430.

You're not funny.

yeah, you should retake it. HYP won't accept anyone with 2400 or lower. aka "want some fries with that"?

well what about the critical analogies comparision charts for the writing section. And when you fold the 3 and 4 pages together, you get a secret message for what questions you can do to get more then regular credit, did you know that?

thats how i got a 2506.2344382
:P

if colleges see you got a 2400 and then you retook for a 2430, they might actually be hesitant in accepting you since theyd rather you put that time in volunteering or EC's. 2400 is already amazing, and SAT scores are increasingly viewed as just a barline to pass for you to apply, i.e. for "X" college, you need a 2300 or higher to apply, whether you get 2350 or 2400 isn't considered. why waste another four+ hours of your life retaking a test that you've alredy shown mastery of to whatever ends you want to achieve in teh future.

^The OP is clearly joking, your response was quite unnecessary.

razzberry, i dont know what to say to you....did you actually think the OP was serious?

lol...good one. i need that.

There are published data on admissions rates (which increase substantially as SAT score rises) and admissions procedures (e.g., adding an extra point on a 1-to-10 rating scale for every 50 SAT points) that show this idea to be very wrong.

oh shiz. does this mean i should retake?

oh wait...if they add an extra point for every 50 SAT points, a 2360 = 2400...

"Well should I? I'm pretty sure I can get the bonus questions on the verbal section right for an all time high of 2430."

You're going to have to do better than that. I got a 2600 on the SAT, so a 2430 is just crap comapred to my score. Good luck getting into community college.

^ (To Taggart, assuming you're serious)

You know, the difference between a 2360 and a 2400 would seem extremely unimportant to you if you could just think about what really mattered in admissions. If applicant A to an amazing school had a 2250 and applicant B to said school had a 2350, then would that really make a huge difference? One score is higher but they can both obviously do just fine in college if the SAT is to be trusted (whether or not it can be trusted is for a different discussion). They would look to other things. Most people that apply to top colleges have extremely high scores, so what's the point of using those scores as the determining factor? There isn't one.

The bonus section of the SAT is actually pretty easy to find if you take a hallucinogen right before the test. That's how I got a 2640.

and I suppose the 2640 is also hallucination? :P

i actually got a 3200. the experimental is the mystery section that you can make count if you check the box while registering for the test.

***?? this convo is so pointless

LMFAO....i dont think razzeberry got the joke....

and stanford_dreamer, a 3200 is just ridiculous, everyone knows that if you get over a 3,000 u actually lose points for overkill. DUH!

No way, Tyler09! Colleges only want anything over 4000 now. Geez everyone knows that!

Not true, if you have a score over 4000, colleges assume it was due to score inflation, and they automatically reject you.
