$24000 Loan?

i have EFC of $0 and they are giving me 24000 Loan? ***
this is just insane...

efc ZERO?! how??

is 24k good or bad?

I got zero financial aid.

Korean

Are you out of state?

yea i'm out of state and every private colleges that accepted me (vandy, rice, etc) had lower than 7k loans with all grant covering everything

24 is too much sigh

That's a maximum. You can borrow less if you want to.

I just realized--you probably meant you needed grant money, not loans. If so, I apologize!

Damn EFC of 0 and no grants? SHOCKING.

its not shocking, hes an out of stater. UCLA only has money for california residents.

no like 19k was scholarship money, grant, and work study
still 24k loan... ahh no ucla for me darn it

mojojo- Ooops, I didn't read the whole thread, so I didn't know he was OOS.

Oh yeah, I forgot OOS pay a lot more so I assumed that the 24k loan was everything you got since instate pays around 24kish.

korean

$19K in scholarship/grant/work study is considered a great FA package for UCLA.

Unless you are Regents, I don't think it gets much better than that.

UCLA is retarded, they accepted someone who knows can't pay for it. But didnt accept me when my stats are good and I am in-state.

Korean, i doubt you wanted to come here in the first place, considering you are an out of stater, applied to better schools than ucla, and knew that state schools dont provide that much finaid to out of staters...I don't know what the fuss is about lol...
