<p>geneseograd: my son liked Geneseo when we visited in April. It would be a “reach” for him. My only problem with it is the major he is interested in (religious studies) is only offered as a minor with the philosophy major. It would probably suffice, but is weak compared to the local Catholics we are also considering. Is there any particular feature which makes Geneseo a good choice for him despite the weak major?</p>
<p>Does he plan on attending graduate school?</p>
<p>Well, in a manner of speaking, yes. He is considering a vocation to the priesthood, and if he does that he would be at Seminary for 4 years after college. As I understand it, if they don’t come in to the seminary with adequate background, it adds more time to the process, so philosophy with religious studies or theology seems to be the recommended undergrad path.</p>
