26th Street Apartment/Dorm

Anybody know anything about this place. I just found out thats where im rooming - someone told me its got a bad reputation...

26th street is probably the worst dorm at NYU. It is far from campus but unlike Water St. and Cliff St. the rooms don't make up for it. The trolley takes you to campus which is slow, and it lacks a convenient subway. Anything can be fun if you make it so however so best of luck to you.

anything can be fun...except 26th street

but hey its cheap and cozy i guess

It seems the only thing people can say about 26th is that the rooms are small - thats about it. I dont see whats so bad - I mean, is it in a crappy area? It doesnt look like it...

Just curious - who else got 26th? Anyone have pictures by chance?

Aww, 26th St isn't THAT bad, jeez. I know 2 people who lived there last year, and they're both living there this year. It's not the greatest place, but it has to be better than 7th St and 2nd St, which are completely disgusting. And nothing's worse in terms of distance than Cliff and Water! So, fear not. It's not the worst place to be. :)

7th Street really isn't that bad. I know 2nd street is really really bad, and maybe it's because they sound alike, but 7th street is nothing like it. It's pretty old, sure, but 7th street is perfectly fine. The worst thing about it is that it doesn't have A/C, but neither do rubin or brittany, and you can totally live with that. There also aren't any elevators, but there are only 4 floors (2 because the other 2 are saved for something). The rooms are huge, and it's really quite nice. Plus the east village is really quite refreshing from the regular village. I don't know why people are so ignorant about 7th street, but it sure isn't disgusting.

Strawberry blazer do you go to NYU? Cliff Street is closer to campus than 26th street if you walk correctly. Cliff street is a ten-15 minute walk to laffyette. And Cliff st. and Water st. have subway access, ACE basically next door to their buildings not to mention the most bus access.
