29 again! GAH!

: (

guess alabama is off the table now.

Sorry to hear that. 29 is still a great score. Your daughter will still have lots of great opportunities. Good luck.

Doesn’t she have one last chance with her SATs that she took last Saturday? Or did she not do that?

Was the breakdown the same?

Wait…did she get her essay score yet? can’t a good essay score bump that up if she’s borderline right now (like 29.25) - If I’m remembering right - memory foggy now. Someone clear my head! LOL

What is your D’s breakdown?

no. she was wishy washy about taking the sat and it sounded like she was only going to do it because i was “making” her. so i didn’t “make” her. it didn’t seem like she had the right frame of mind so i just decided if she wasn’t worried about it, then i wasn’t either. her choice, her choice to live with.

and no, i don’t think the essay raises your composite. but i may be wrong.

of course, she has now crossed baylor off her list as well.

waaaah!!

E 32 31 31 32
M 31 31 28 27
R 26 24 30 27
S 25 29 27 29

W 8 - 9

so she has had the ability to get the scores she needs, just not all on the same day!!!

i checked her ACT score - i am guessing she has too - but she hasn’t mentioned anything yet.

but she does seem a little down today.

Wait…let me think…

Ok…Is UA one of her top choices? If so, and she wants to go…then…

She could ask her GC to request a rec for Fellows invite (only an ACT 28 is needed for that). If chosen for that, I’m almost certain UA Honors will give her what she needs - actually she’d probably get the full tuition at that point.

Fellows, CBHP, and Honors College have some of their own schollies. They give them to kids like your D who are OOS, but fall below.

Seriously, there could still be some hope if she wants UA. Let me know. :)

yeah, i think she really wants UA. i think that is why she kept taking that test!!!

if you have some ideas, i am willing to keep trying … but i am not all that good with calling people and getting what i want.

i will pmail you

Mike, don’t despair. We have been “not invited” to many events that others who had the “right scores” were invited to. Well, pushy mom here called and told of son’s grades, curriculum, extracurricular and volunteer work, and many times, a nice adcom or staff member of an honor’s program sent an invite on out to us. I would call the honors program, admissions, financial aid office, anybody, to get advice. Good luck!

Mike…

I’m not ready to give up if you and your D are not. :)

You let me know what she wants, and I’ll help as much as you want.

thank you mom. i appreciate it.

did you get my email?

Love the username, just saying.

: )

thanks!!!

Mike…I sent you a PM with my email address.

Did you get my email response?

thanks everyone for the kind words.

is there a problem and you aren’t getting my emails? did you lose internet again?

i was really touched that you were so willing to offer help, but now i am just confused.

: (

oh…no…which email did you send it to?

So sorry!!! Don’t sent it to the email assoc with this forum cuz I never check that one.
