I'm applying regular decision to Vanderbilt. They just sent me a postcard, saying "We have recieved Part 1 of your application for admission. When the remainder of your application is complete, you will be notified via email and another postcard."

What is the rest of the application? I sumitted everything at the same time, so has it just not been processed? I used the Common App, and I submitted the applicaiton, supplement, fee, and I mailed last monday my transcripts, recs, etc.

Sorry if this is dumb/obnoxious, but I want to make sure I didn't forget something, and I don't want to email them unless I have to.

Would they be waiting for your teacher & counselor recommendations? Even if you have done all of your submissions, the application isn't complete until those things are received as well.

I submitted both parts at the same time and the same thing happened to me, don't worry about it it is just held up in the system. If you did the Vandy app (instead of the common app) then you would have submitted 2 separate parts. And btw, don't be afraid to call admissions at all. In fact, they keep track of how many times you "demonstrate interest" and it can help you out with admission.

no, Pasch, Vanderbilt does NOT keep track of how many times you "demonstrate interest." I know many schools do, but Vanderbilt is not one of them. I visited Vandy and I was informed so by the admissions officers.
