2nd Round of Likely Letters Has Started

I just got one today. Yay. Does anyone know how many they send out total?

They're still coming out?
oh so there's still a chance I might get one???!!!!

ohhh....I would be so...very....ecstatic...in an orgasmic kind of way....if i get one.

Anyways, I think about 500. there's a post on somewhere that tells you....

congrats metsfan.

Thanks for the congratulations, sybbie719.

Yes, they are definitely still coming out with likely letters. They do four rounds, and this is only the second.

Congratulations to everyone else who received a likely letter, and good luck to everyone who's still waiting.

I am quite sure that this has taken some of the pressure off knowing that your official admission is coming in april. Will you be attending Dimensions?

Lucky Youuuuuuuuu

Just wondering...has anyone on the west coast recieved a likely letter?

My son got one here in SoCal today!

I totally want to go to Dimensions, but didn't receive anything about it with the likely letter. Hopefully I'll get something about it in the next week or so. It sounds like a great oppurtuinity to get to know the other applicants and make friends with people so that I won't go into Freshman year not knowing anybody. Does Dartmouth do that partial reimbursement for travel expenses thing that some other colleges do? Thanks once again for all the congratulations, and for any replies.

Congrats to the 2nd rounders! Now you can say "Yay! Dartmouth likes me!" (not meant in any offensive or arrogant way...^_^...)

Did everyone who got likely letters so far send in their applications fairly early? (Like, before Dec. 31)

This was the 3rd or 4th round already. I'm sorry to say, but I think that the likelies are winding down. But, the general mail date is coming soon. So, the waiting is almost over...that's a good thing.

amyloplast,
I asked the same question few days ago and was told that it has nothing to do with the timing of the application. I found out later from another source that Drtmouth has a point system, they give every application a number of points that result in calculation of what it is called the Accademic Index-AI that ranges from 1-9 with 1 being the lowest. Students whose AIs 8 and 9 get a likely letter immediately because their application gets read once. Student with AIs 5,6,and 7 are considered borderline and their applications get read a second time, and possibly third time. Some of the latter students get a likely letter as their apps got read and some may get an R for reject or an A for admit early april. I hope this helps.

I got mine Saturday!!! I was in DC for a Junior State of AMerica convention and my parents read it to me over the phone!

I submitted my app Jan 1 at around 8 PM via common app!!!

Still waiting on the other ivies tho. One student from my school applied to ED early and got in and another got a likely 1st round (legacy) so I was def not expecting this.

Good news after getting deferred from Columbia and having my guidance counselor tell me "You might have to go to UCONN".

:)

this is probably the third and final round for likelies.

Nope. I think the third round goes out March 14.

Does Dartmouth have a generous waitlist policy?
I hope I don't get flat out rejected

Hey everyone!! I just got a likely letter today!!! Congrats to those who recieved letters and good luck to those still waiting.

I really wish I never saw this likely letter post...it makes me anxious and disappointed every day I get the mail :(
when do you think the last day would be to receive one...approximately??

CONGRATS to everyone that got one you're obviously accomplished and wonderful and should be very proud. and for those that haven't yet or won't, you still probably are and it is beyond me how some people are getting rejected. but that's ivy league for you...the machine

byeeee

I would think the last day would be around Tuesday, depending on how from from H-town you live.
