Does anybody know of any instances in which USC has actually rescinded acceptances due to 2nd semester grades?

Are Cs or C-s considered grounds for withdrawal of your admission? Or do you just have to pass all of your classes?

Please help me! Apparently I'm in danger of failing BC Calculus. Yikes.

Someone with good experience with this sort of thing respond to this. I'm starting to get worried too (damn math class!)

Hey I have the same problem. Last semester, Calc BC was horrible for me. I had a really tough time on tests. I'm afraid my grade will stick out on my mid-year report. My grade is much better now because what we're learning is manageable, but yeah I hope they don't rescind an acceptance.

Everyone messes up sometime.

What's the minimum GPA (weighted? UW?) that we must have so our acceptance won't be rescinded?

Nobody seems to know (I don't).. but if Calc BC is trouble.. college will only be harder, won't it? (at least I hope it will be)

... you hope that calc will be harder in college?

Yeah. I'm going to be an engineering or computer science major. If high school was so rigorous, why am I going to college? To party?! No, I'm hoping for a challenge.. and NOT just busy work or reading books, which we could easily do on our own.

My calculus class is actually Math 250 at Cal State Fullerton, but we take it at our high school. Unfortunately, our teacher is not a professor at CSUF but a math teacher at our high school, and he doesn't know the material inside and out like a professor would. Sometimes his explanations are hard to understand. We're actually learning linear algebra right now. And we hardly learned Calculus BC this year. We learned most of it in AB last year.

I'm not too sure what my major is, although I did put one down (Economics/Mathematics). If I end up sticking with that instead of going for just economics, I'll have to take several math courses, and I'm probably going to repeat the third semester of calculus and first semester of linear algebra (225 and 226/227 at USC). This class is pushing me away from pursuing math as a part of my career. We'll see.

Yea. My school's BC Calculus program is actually tougher than college material. My major is economics as well.

Does colleges like USC look at ur final grade? Or 2nd semester?

We're supposed to send them a copy of our final (2nd semester) transcripts at the end of the year, as well as AP and IB scores.

Yall don't worry, unless your grades have dropped by two letter grades in each class. Personally, I think Physics C is quite a bit harder than IB Calculus BC.

And if you're only failing one class thats ok I bet.

Do we also send them the results of IB SL tests? What would these scores be used for?

protokurios - I'm in the same situationj, and the school, Portland State, Even said it would transfer. Garg! As for grades, I think it you truely slack off and it is noticable the they have a problem. But if your wokring hard and doing well then your ok
