Hello all,

I am a student at UCM and really involved on campus. Please ask me questions.

How do you deal with the “boredom” of UC Merced? Do you even get bored or is that just a sentiment given by those who don’t get involved?

You won’t get bored if you get involved and aren’t a stuck up freshman. Bottom line.

I don’t know, kinda have to disagree with you there, Leviathan. While there’s a lot to do on campus, it’s a bit boring if you ever want to go off campus, as choices are limited to a few non-chain restaurants and only one movie theater that shows current movies. The city doesn’t have much to offer, really.

The boredom sentiment is only given by people who need to be constantly entertained. Quite frankly, UC Merced is boring (Yes, I would like to be constantly entertained). Most of us come from big cities and high expectations. However, both Leviathan08 and r31ncarnat3d make valid points.

Tips to avoid boredom:

Hooray, I just figured it out…I should publish a paper on my discovery!!!
The Cure for boredom=MAKE FRIENDS!!!

All sarcasm aside…make friends, introduce yourself to new people, explore, be open to new experiences, etc.

could u help me figure this out?

how many times a day do you consider leaving UCM?

“The boredom sentiment is only given by people who need to be constantly entertained.”

Nothing is interesting if you are not interested.
