3.0 first semester grades... :(

I've applied as a music intended major..
And I know grades are not the most important thing,
but I've got straight Bs for this semester due to my practicing for auditions...
Is this okay?

No one knows. If your GPA has been amazing so far, that might come off as laziness to them.

Then again, I've heard that senior year GPA isn't that important, as long as there is nothing lower than a B.

In the Vandy Admission blog they say that the Mid-year report is optional.

But they do see the final year report, so that gives you a possibility of being rescinded. But then again, if you do well second semester, I doubt it'll be a problem if you get in.

The mid-year report is optional?

Seriously?

Yes.

I don't know why, but it is.

So I just need to tell my counselor not to submit them?

Well, for Vanderbilt, yes. I'm sure other schools need them, too, though.

I checked CommonApp to see if my counselor had submitted her stuff yet. Apparently she's chosen to send in physical copies as opposed to the online option.

I hope she hasn't sent in my mid-year report yet. If she did, I'm going to have to call Vandy and ask them if they can discard it. lol

Idk how well that will work out, though.
