I live in California and am Asian. I’m a Junior right now on JV Water Polo and Varsity Swimming. I have a 3.0 Academic GPA and haven’t taken any AP classes. I’ve got a 26 on my ACT and am hoping to get it up to 27. I want to major in business, specifically marketing or management.

Northern Arizona University
Arizona State
University of Arizona
CU Boulder
Colorado State
Chico State
CSU Long Beach
Oregon State
What are my chances of getting into these schools?
I’m pretty sure 3.0 and 26 ACT will get you guaranteed admission at the 3 arizona schools. Not sure about the others.
GPA looks low for CU & CSU. Unless you’re in the “service area,” Long Beach is a going to be tough.
ASU and Colorado State seem likely but the others don’t.
Take a look at Sac, Sonoma and San Jose States - all have reputable business programs and are probably in your reach.

The Colorado universities and CSU LB seem reaches. Arizona should be okay but I wouldn’t recommend ASU/UA (huge + non-honors students at ASU definitely get the short end of the stick their first two years). NAU is a safety if you can afford it. Look into NM Tech, UNM, Western Washington U, Sonoma State, CSU San Marcos, perhaps even UC Merced.
I’m looking to get into ASU too, but I have a 3.0 and a 21. Do I get in?
