Does anyone know whether the minimum GPA for Senior year to keep your admission decision is 3.0 Weighted or unweighted?

Weighted and combined semesters

I'm pretty sure it's weighted too. There were big discussions throughout CC on this, and UCI weighs your GPA.

Your askin if UCI takes your augmented gpa right?

Wait a minute,I thought it was unweighted for all UCs. You guys sure about this?

weighted, i asked the admissions office awhile ago.

when u log on to ur MyAdmissionsWebsite at admissions.uci.edu .. there's a titled : Reminder about your Provisional Admission

Per our Freshman Contract, your admission is subject to cancellation if you:

Do not receive a high school diploma or equivalency.

Obtain less than 3.00 weighted GPA in A-G courses in senior year.

Receive a D or F grade in senior year in any A-G or college course.

this is only part of it

err is the D or F only what shows up on your transcript, cuz i got a D for one six weeks (out of 3 six weeks in a semester; i got B and B+ before). So am i all right then?

Yes the D or F only pertains to what is shown on the transcript you will be sending in at the end of the school year, which is soon. You're good to go.

Okay, so lets say I get a 3.6 Weighted GPA first semester, and then a 2.8 second semester.... That'll be okay, right???

Yes, unless you took one class the first semester and 14 for second. -_-'

i'm getting a C+!!! will that be a problem???

I hope you're kidding.

it depends what u are getting in ur other classes. i believe pluses and minuses are not accounted for on final transcripts. I think you should email the uci admissions people just in case. Or you can always call them.

^^ reply to clucky's post

is a C a D or and F no! so your ok! unless your gpa is below a 3.0

that's my only C+ for the whole year. also my first semester grade is a lot higher than my second semester but above 3.0. i'm so worried! i emailed them like a week already and no replies.

i have a D in my AP chemistry class and that's totally breaking the freshmen contract which said that i'm not supposed to have a D in my senior year. i have to email my admissions counselor and tell him that i have a D... what am i supposed to say??? the truth is that i just totally slacked off senior year... i don't know what to do...

You're a little late jingy. Try to make up an excuse that is not "I was lazy." That's the best thing you can do right now. I'd suggest begging and proposing to retake the course. Check with your local community college and see if it is still posisble to add into their chemistry class. In my area, summer session for community college starts next Monday so I'd suggest to get cracking and sign up tomorrow.

crap... well i was talking to my friend who talked to his college advisor counselor person and he said that its better that i owned up to what i did and just tell the truth. is that a good or bad idea?
