My D, a first year student, was in the last group to register for spring classes. She is a theater major, and ended up with 3. 1/2 courses, 3 gen ed, a 1/2 credit required theater course, plus a non credi gym class that takes the spot of a class. Her schedule is such that no currently open class fits. She took 41/2credits in the fall andhas 2 AP credits. Any advice? Thank you.
According to the Registrar’s Office, she’ll need 34 credits total to graduate, so it doesn’t necessarily put her in a hole, but it does shrink possible room to maneuver in later years.
(Oh, and yeah, my daughter, also a first-year, has complained repeatedly about the gym class taking up schedule/study space this semester. It’s gotten her into a habit of exercising, though, which I wasn’t sure anything would ever be able to do, so there’s that.)
Thank you dfbdfb! She just added another class to make it 4 1/2 credits. I told her she might want to take a lighter load later in her studies when she is working on a special project.
@eli1067 I’d love to hear your perspective of the school, pros and cons, my kid applied for Theater.
