3 1/2 hour interview!!

My Georgetown interview lasted 3 1/2 hours! I'm guessing this is a good thing, but my interviewer seemed to enjoy provoking me into intentionally controversial subjects (war in Iraq, education reform, universal healthcare, etc.).

My question--or rather, my challenge--is this: Has anyone ever heard of an interview longer than this?

wow. that's super long. my longest one was little longer than an hour... shortest one with admission officer was about 15 minutes or so...

i guess it's a good thing since if he/she wasn't interested in you, he/she wouldn't have talked with you for 3 1/2 hours..

Wow thats really good... mine was about 45 minutes
We did talk about controversial subjects..
He asked alot about business issues since im applying to MSB.

By the way was yours a lawyer?

Yeah, I've had interviews with GW and Duke, but they were all the normal length (45 min-1hr).

He wasn't a lawyer, though.

My Duke interview was 1hr 30min and he was a lawyer... lol

i got a confirmation of part 1 december 5th..... how long did it take before they contacted you for an interview?

yeah, I got confirmation for mine on Dec. 1st and I still haven't heard from my guy, even though it says 3 weeks. It only lists an address so I'm gonna write him a letter tomorrow, I guess.

I think that you might want to let the admissions people know in a very friendly way that your interview was so long.

" My interview was 3.5 hours. I enjoyed it and am more excited about GT than ever."

beprepn

Mine was one hour 40 minutes for Georgetown for EA. I got deferred... I thought it went well, but was really boring. The guy talked for about 20 minutes on EA/ED and how it was unfair against poor kids who couldn't visit, I guess. I got extremely confused. He just asked me about school stuff, which sorta angered me, cuz all that stuff they will see on the app. Usually i spend the majority of my interviews (rice and georgetown) explaining what IB is why I'm not in AP.

I sent in my personal data sheet in late Novermber, and just got my interview sheet a few days ago. If it helps, the sheet is an envelope-sized gray sheet of paper that has a name, address, and phone # of your interviewer on it. You're supposed to call them.

But I heard that interviews are not weighted as much

My longest interview so far was about two hours (yep, a lawyer), and the shortest was probably 20 minutes. 3 1/2...that's a lotta talking.

mine was about an hour, but we talked for much less b/c he kept having to take phone calls (he was a doctor.)

my admissions officer that i like said ure wrong 242488 :(

pepgirly? I'm wrong about interviews not carrying alot of weight? Well I said I heard...

myweatherby-hm well now I feel bad I sent my interviewer a letter pestering him. but it has been 4 weeks!! better late than never I guess.

Does anyone know when the interviews have to be completed by??

my interviewer didn't show up! I'm positive I had the right time and place (I wrote it down immediately and had even checked with him). I called him to see what happened, but he hasn't responded. This has all happened within the last three days-- do you think I should call the second contact person listed?? thanks!

i had my interview back in.... oh gosh, idk early nov. maybe? mine could not have been more than 20 min. i thought that it went very well, she was very nice and seemed to like me, but we didn't talk about very much. well, it was my first real interview. i hope that that's okay... 3.5 hours, that's just crazy!
