<p>What is going on today on campus, anyone know? My D is trying to get around campus and security, FBI and police presence is preventing this. Sent video of motorcycle cops all over the sidewalks and Bryant Stadium appears to be on lockdown.</p>
<p>Just read on twitter: Congressmen and women are on campus today celebrating UA’s integration, hence the police presence and road closures. :-)</p>
<p>A large number of Congressional delegations are visiting cpus today as part of a Civil Rights tour of historical locations.</p>
<p>It is sad that a military presence is necessary at such an event, much as it was 50 years ago.</p>
<p>The extra protection is likely there as the result of 9/11.</p>
