I just submitted my supplement to a school with a march 1 deadline. I'm on the west coast and right now the time is 9:22pm (i.e. before midnight on march 1) but when i submitted it it says that i did on March 2!! will this be a problem? will they think i submitted it late? the school itself is also on the west coast so i dont understand the incorrect date? was i suppose to submit it by east coast time or something?

You should be fine. They might have accidentally left it in the wrong timezone or something. The school will probably be able to see (or will know) that you did it on time.

On the off chance it’s actually marked as late:

Scenario 1:

“Hey, this kid submitted the application 20 minutes late.”

“So what?”

Scenario 2:

“Hey, this kid submitted the application 20 minutes late.”

glances at first page

“Look, [West Coast State], that’s why.”

“Ah.”

There is usually a grace period of a couple of day, even for the application itself, for exactly the reason you’ve brought up. Imagine an international applicant with spotty Internet access who has to rely on the postal service to submit his/her supplement on time!
