3.1 gpa good enough?

<p>hey CC,
i am currently at a community college in washington state. i have a 3.1 gpa and have calc 2 and physics 1(mechanics) out of the way. i expect to be finished with the physics series and calculus series and also some intro chemistry classes. my preferred major would be mechanical engineering and my secondary would be electrical engineering. i am looking to apply to WSU and UW for the next year. to skip to the question; would a 3.1 gpa be good enough for either of these universities to even consider accepting me into the mechE or EE programs? im just really paranoid ill be stuck in general admissions.
any help/advice is greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>You have a much better shot at WSU than UW. The thing about UW is that they have competitive admissions to engineering from WITHIN the university - UW freshmen and sophomores will also be applying for those slots.</p>

<p>Are you applying for next fall? WSU admissions was pretty helpful with any questions we had, but their app deadline for transfer admissions and fin aid is Jan 31.</p>
