<p>I would suggest you check out the actual applications of the law schools of interest to you. At least some law schools don’t have a Hispanic box–they have boxes for Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, etc. At some, the OP would probably qualify for “other South American” or “other Hispanic.” But at some, he wouldn’t be a URM at all if he can’t check the Puerto Rican or Mexican boxes. There might not be “other South American” or “other Hispanic” boxes on the apps. </p>
<p>In other words, law school apps usually don’t ask “Are you an underrepresented minority?” They ask you to check off one or more boxes which reflect which groups you belong to. So, look at the apps of the particular law schools of interest.</p>
<p>Even at LSs which do ask, Other Hispanic doesn’t get as much of a boost as Mexican or Puerto Rican.
