Well I'm doing the 3-2 engineering program in my LAC and My GPA is not that high (Its not a 3.0) and Pretty much the schools in program recommend that you get at least a 3.20 (calTech, Columbia, Wash & Lee) and my adviser has told me that it doesn't look good for me.

I know I can apply to to other Engineering schools (must be ABET accredited only condition) so what other Engineering schools take in 3-2 engineering students besides the schools that I mention and do not require a high GPA. I want to do Civil engineering or Construction Engineering Management.

You should search “3/2” here on CC because this topic has come up often.

I think what you’re looking for is basically a straight transfer, which in your case would be a 3/2 by another name. The attraction of 3/2 programs is the established agreement between the LAC and the engineering school by which an applicant from a LAC is guaranteed admission to the engineerig school when specific criteria are met. If you don’t meet the specific admission standards, it does not automatically follow that you won’t be admitted. I’d say it depends on the specifics of your candidacy and the past practice at your target engineering school. For example, I’ve read that the engineering school at UVirginia has been hospitable to transfer applicants whom had good but not stellar grades.

Is there any chance to get your GPA above a 3.0 by sticking around an extra semester at your school? Many more transfer opportunities open up at 3.0.

I am in the 3-2 engineering program at Elon University in North Carolina. We have agreements with several engineering schools for students to go to after their 3 years here.

North Carolina State works well for many, as do Columbia Univ, Penn State, Virginia Tech is a bad one. One student had to financially say he would transfer there before they would discuss how his classes would transfer or anything!

Also, Univ of South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Washington University in St. Louis…some other out there. Check it out
