Hello everyone i have a 3.2 GPA and got a 1800 on my SAT. i don't care the size of the school as long as its under 25,000 and over 2,000. I want to stay relatively close to the east coast but don't care about north or south.
Thanks!

ok, what are you able to pay?

Please list your state of residence. How much can your family afford?

This is a very helpful thread from the parents forum:

calla1 is pointing you in the right direction … but look at the 2013 and 2014 versions instead. You have many fabulous choices! Don’t get discouraged by the stats more typically thrown around on CC.

The list of where the 2013 3.0-3.3 hs grads decided to attend is outlined in this post:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/15885519-post2798.html
Somewhere earlier in the thread is a list of acceptances (which of course is a much longer list than where attending)

We can afford mostly anything under 40,000

And the gpa my school gives is messed up. I have a 3.7 weighted

Did you actually have that conversation with your parent(s), are are you just saying that? Is that $40,000 total or $40,000 per year? Even well-off parent(s) aren’t going to just happily drop $160,000 for college.

You need to have a serious conversation with parent(s), using various online calculators that estimate expected family contribution, etc.

They told me that they probably won’t go over 40,000 and would be very grateful if I found a school for alot less than that, but if my dream school is 40,000 they said they will find a way to help me make It happen. Also my grandparents have a good amount of money and they are helping us out with the cost

And I live in ct so uconn would be the perfect option because of instate tuition. I just don’t know if I have the grades

NCSU is a little big but a great college. Basically your fit for any state college in the country. How about FSU? Its nice and sunny in Florida or if you like the cold maybe Penn state? Maybe Georgia tech to experience the true southern culture? Maybe Virginia tech would be a good choice? Maybe a state uni in Connecticut would be better? Like the urban feel? How about NYU? Maybe you would like small town feel? How About UNC?

I gave you some names to help you decide which one you want to go too.

Ultimablade: wow thank you that’s a great list and very helpful. I will look into all those
Schools because all of them sound great but very different so I will have to figure out what kind of
College I want to attend. Again thank you

University of Connecticut
Central Connecticut State
Western Connecticut State
Eastern Connecticut State

Unless you have a particular passion to move to a different region of the country, and you are not competitive for merit aid, nor likely to get financial aid, then I see no reason not to investigate the public universities in your own state.

I will definitely look into the state schools you bring up a great point there especially if money is a factor
