So, I've read a few threads on the 3/2 program at Columbia. I'm looking for more opinions on it. I have the opportunity available to me to do it. However, one thing that worries me is that from what I read, students who have tried to do engineering after going to lac for 3 years felt they were unprepared for engineering and had a tough time. Anyway that is going through the 3/2 program now? I am interested in majoring in math at the lac and maybe doing applied math or computer engineering at Columbia. I've been trying to contact the advisor for the program at the lac to see if he can put me in touch with some students that went through it and are currently at Columbia, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

Is there a question, or is this just a statement? Me not sure what you're asking, I'll just say that I'm a SEAS alum and encountered some 3/2 kids. If you went to a good LAC and took rigorous math and science courses, you should be fine.

I'm a 3/2er and Applied Math now at Columbia, PM me if you have any questions broken_symlink.

Thanks Columbia2002. Thats what I was looking for, because I had read about a student who had gone to Columbia after finishing at his lac and thought that his lac did not prepare him well enough for engineering. I'm still waiting to hear back from the advisor so I see how students who went through the lac feel. Also, I was wondering, did you get an engineering job after coming out of SEAS?

Albionguy: I will pm you.
