i posted this on the other thread...but, i sat down for an hour or so and searched for old posts. there was a day MANY (I MEAN MANY) received an update "in review"...well all of those (except for like two) were rejected.

FilmFanatic: Can you tell me what it means have an older March update? like, is that something you know anything about?

Candy, I saw the same thing. I think we're rejected. :'(

I have three friends who are incoming freshman. One got in in January. One hadn't gotten a status update since december and got his letter yesterday with the update around the time he actually got his letter. And then one got in today who hadn't had his status updated since march until yesterday and got the link today. So hang in there, the status thing is getting really weird now.

Sure thing. My stats were 2070 SAT, 3.7 UW GPA doing basically full IB, varsity letters in track, cross country, and basketball and various awards. Editor of my school paper and on the paper for three years. Paged for the state senate twice. Worked at Hollister and camp counselor. Did some theater stuff including a play that traveled to Scotland for my school. Was in a choir that went to Japan. Took a pretty challenging IB courseload with 4 years of Spanish, stuff like that.

the most likely rejection date is 3/25 update or later (i counted roughly 20 people got it on here).again this is speculation
further comments:
if you had another update in march before this date, you might be a spring admit...
if you got this date after a really long time ago, this might be a rejection
everything is based on last year's posts.
it's just assumptions

Okay well so far you should be good. What about your statement of intent? What did you write about?

It seems like people are updated around the same time they get an acceptance...

For my statement of intent I talked about my plans to become a journalist and the importance of a free and independent media.

Well I sure as hell didn't get anything in the mail.

I don't know what happened though. I thought I would get in, now it looks I'm being flat our rejected...

does anyone have that link to the USC site where you can login if you were accepted?

Was there no one who got a 3/25/09 update who got an oasis link today?

Didn't we prove that login thing only works a few days after you get your letter?

taxi-"Was there no one who got a 3/25/09 update who got an oasis link today? "

observation: most people with 3/25 link didn't have an update for a VERY long time (in past yrs people who suddenly got one update close to april 1st got rejected..some spring admits)

(as we've seen, most people got the link 2 days after)

this only strengthens the validity of the assumption i made.

there were roughly 20 people who got that update...
no oasis link reported so far...
that doesn't seem good..of course this is just speculation..

Agreed, this doesn't seem great. It also puts all of us who a 3/26/09 update in a bad situation as well.

yea, i meant 3/25 or later

did you have any other updates in march?

So I had no update from 12/2 until a "your in review" on 3/11. then nothing. Do you think that means flat out rejection or maybe a spring admit. Do I sound pathetic or what?

I didn't have any other updates in March. I was stuck on 1/02/09 until the recent 3/26/09. I'm slightly optimistic because of the stats of the people who posted in the 3/26/09 thread. Everyone had an SAT of 2000+, and even though most had scores in the average range of USC's stats, no one was below that range.
