You have a very strong shot everywhere. Your SAT score will put you in the top 200 African-American female students in the country, your junior-year GPA is notable, you have a reason for the early poorer performance, and you will taken the most rigorous curriculum available. If you were to take the top 200 African-American females in the country and divide them among the top schools, you would quickly find you are competitive (not a shoo-in, but competitive) everywhere.

But this doesn’t tell you ANYTHING about what kinds of schools you should be aiming at? What do you want to study? Do you want an urban or rural environment? All women’s school? (I’d recommend Smith.) Is community service as part of your college experience important to you? What kind of financial need do you have? Are you looking for merit aid?

Well, I am not so much asking where I would ‘fit in’, but I would more so like some suggestions as to specific schools where I would have a decent chance of admittance given my stats

All. (10 characters)

Okay, you said you are interested in “business.” If you mean by that an undergraduate business program, then scratch all of the Ivies except for Penn and Cornell. Also scratch all of the elite LACs: Swarthmore, Williams, Amherst, Bowdoin, Wellesley, et al. Scratch the University of Chicago and many other top universities.

Look at USC, WUSTL, Wake Forest, Bentley, Babson, and Northeastern, for starters.

If you are willing to redefine “business” to “economics, and maybe an MBA later on,” then you can add back in all of the Ivies, elite LACs, and other top universities.

I think you have a decent shot at all top competitive schools, but should (like everyone else) apply to a few good safeties as well. For reaches I would recommend choosing an Ivy or two (if interested) or other top LACs (I’d look at Swarthmore, Bowdoin, Smith, Wellsely) as well as maybe some top universities if you’d be okay with size (northwestern, uChicago, etc.)
