3.41 GPA Computer Science Transfer to UC

So, I am working on my transfer application right now for UC’s, and don’t know how likely I am to get into anything with a 3.41, as it seems for Computer Science, that is a low GPA. I want to apply to UC Santa Cruz, Irvine, San Diego and Santa Barbara, but I really don’t know if I’ll be able to get into these schools, so I applied for SJSU as well.

I’ve completed the full programming series 1-3 in both C++ and Java, and have received A’s in all of them. In Calculus 1, though, I received a C but I’m hoping to get an A in Calc 2 this quarter.

Also, I haven’t received any D’s F’s or W’s.

What do you guys think my chances are of getting accepted into any of my schools of choice? And more importantly, if I get rejected to all of the above schools, what are my options? Do I do a third year at Community College…?

UCSD is definitely pretty slim but if I were you I would still be hopeful for Irvine/SC. The Irvine guy that came to our college fair said their average GPA admittance is a 3.4, not sure of just compsci on its own. I haven’t looked into the compsci program at SB at all. You could always apply for a couple more CSUs, SFSU, Sac State, etc. If you get rejected from everywhere you want to go then I would recommend knocking out the rest of your prereqs with another year at CC and look into TAGing somewhere next app season.

I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere.

Can’t you TAG to UCI, UCSB, UCSC for Computer Science…?
