3.5/3.6 NYU ---> Columbia?

Hi all,

General info:

I'm Econ major (Math minor) at NYU with roughly a 3.5-3.6.
I'm going to be doing research with one of my professors this upcoming semester.

Questions:

Would this GPA and 1 research paper be enough to get into a Columbia Master's program for Economics right after graduation?
Is it alright to get a B/B+ in a couple economics classes and still get in?

Thank you for any help!

There is much more to grad school admissions than GPA. Take a look at the first page of Grad School Admissions 101, pinned to the top of this section.

Then go talk to the professors you'll be asking for LORs.
