3.5 Gpa

where are the best places i might be able to get into with a 3.5 gpa. I'll be a junior fall transfer with around 65 credits. I wanted to get into a well recruited school for undergrad business or possibly a good place for econ. Northwestern, Uchicago ? Wheres the best place i can go to with my gpa. Thanks in advance.

where are you now? that will make a difference

Rutgers New Bruns

so you're gonna be a sophomore starting this fall?

yeah, so im looking to transfer as a junior next year.

what are your hs stats? gpa, sat's, rank?

Rutgers College: 3.5
HS:
SAT: 710M 530V
GPA: 3.3 UW
Rank: Top 20%

I think Northwestern and U chicago would be a stretch for you, but a number of other schools would welcome a 3.5 gpa

any ideas on which solid econ programs or undergrad biz schools i can get into

For a couple of other b-schools, you can try Michigan and NYU (2 of Top 10 business school, BTW), but Stern at NYU will be harder to transfer into. Your SATs won't count as much in the transfer process; two key things are transcript (grades + courseload) and essays. Other schools to think about Cornell (a reach but attainable), Lehigh, Villanova and Indiana. IMHO for you: Michigan. But you'll need a really solid and dynamic application package: good recs, ECs & essays.

yeah, u won't be able to apply to ross, the business school at michigan, but you are a pretty good candidate for the econ major for LSA.

Thanks alot guys. I'll def try NYU and Cornell as Reach Schools. Do you have anything in mind which would be a good match business or econ school for me? BTW, How come I wont be able to apply to Ross. They dont accept transfers or ... ?

You can try Marshall at USC. Their business programs are pretty highly regarded! On the other hand, USC has a very strong and unify alumuni connection. This can led to some great jobs after grad. Good luck

where are you coming from?

I am coming from Penn State-Smeal College of Business. Still waiting a decision from USC to be rendered.

what are your stats coolant, ur from cali right

Sorry, but according to this, you don't sound like UChicigo or Northwestern "ready"...
sorry to butcher your hopes, I don't know how difficult Rutgers is but, i think a 3.7 is req. for almost any top 15 schools. Unless you got some stellar ECs, I really don't see it happening.
Best of Luck

yea, I am from Cali.

Penn State (including this semester). 3.90
HIGH SCHOOL: attended a private Christrian American School in Taiwan.

HIGH SCHOOL GPA: 4.20 (unweighted)
SAT: (V) 800 (M) 780 (SAT II Writing) 800 (SAT II Math IIC) 740 (SAT II Chinese) 800

Rank: our school do not provide rankings!

you'll definately get into USC

hope so. When I applied in my senior year, I wasn't offered admission to Marshall @USC. =(
