i just want to be honest. could someone with a 3.5 to a 3.0 get into a schools like USC or San Luis Obispo for architecture?

I don't know- maybe? San Luis Obispo maybe flat out---- USC maybe with a great portfolio. I know one guy who is going to go to cal poly slo and he definitely didn't have high grades.

what if i have a killer portfolio and a lot of extracurricular activities?

weighted or unweighted?

unweighted

I'd say you have a decent chance then. Just work on what you can- portfolio, statement of purpose, getting good letters of recommendation, and try not to worry about what you can't change.

thank you for the advice

What relative weighting is usually given to the gpa vs the portfolio?
