Thank you very much; by reading this thread, you showed generosity- hope your chance boosts up

This needs to be bumped.

You really don’t need to bump it after 19 minutes…

Very immature to presume that you will get all As in 12 APs that you are going to take in one year. With your performances in the APs you have take in junior year, you most likely won’t even get half those As.

Colleges do not compare the number of APs taken between you and the valedictorian. Your school hours are pointless too.

You also don’t have much of a hook if you’re an ORM because, at most, your ‘hook’ will negate your ORM status, unless you are a IMO team member in which case you do not need to post a chance thread. You most probably will NOT receive AP international scholar. There are people out there with 20+ APs.

Can’t chance accurately without ECs, but at this point HYPSM are mid-reaches because you seem to be one of the weaker 2400s and HYPSM certainly do not accept all (the acceptance rate stands between thirty and forty percent I believe). In my honest opinion, unless your ECs are miraculous and there is some other form of miracle, you most probably will not be accepted to HYPSM (one of those 5 is a possibility though).

^
Makes some valid points though some may be classified as speculation.

Jebar, reply to my PM.

Your grades look VERY familiar; I’m surprised I didn’t notice this already. Have we chatted on FB?!? I remember that some of your stats were… rather different… o_O

He has posted two or three chances threads before. Maybe you recognize him from those.

-_- this guy again…

Look, you’re going to get the same responses as last time, dude. You cannot expect to get all 5s and all As in 12 AP classes. a) it’s impossible, b) your grades dropped significantly simply from adding 6. Taking all those APs is not going to impress ANYONE. All it reveals is that you are trying to compensate for a significant weakness in your application.

You were a fool to retake a 2320 SAT score, and are even more of a fool to worry about Yale seeing your ‘miserable failure’ of a score.

what exactly are you a nationally ranked athlete for?

I also think its interesting how you don’t get an A junior year in Sports and your a nationally ranked athlete.

^IBfootballer…
just stop.

When did I EVER say 2320 is a “miserable” score?
Stop.
Your inputs are not appreciated.

Jebarpolsky- school hours are pointless? Please elaborate why. Thank you for your comment.

fledgling- I sent you a PM, and please reply back. You replied on my previous thread- this time, I decided to add some colors to my courses.

HKtoUS- which ones are valid points, and which ones are speculations?

Wilkey- I will answer your question, thank you for the curiosity.

Not true, not true at all. There are people with 25+ APs (in the United States).
This is an international competition.
Last time I checked, the number was about 15-20.

This is perhaps the most misguided comment that is spreading on CC.
There are 6 IMO members-
Ivy League plus top schools:
H,Y,P,Cornell,Dartmouth,Penn,Columbia,Brown,Stanford,MIT:
10*2250 (and a bit more for Cornell)= 22500 spots available.

Now IMO people DO get in, but a lot of other average people also get in.

No, I’m talking about something else. henrymoore, I replied to your PM.

For a guy who knows so much, it seems to me you don’t really need a chance thread. Why bathe yourself in the opinions of your inferiors?

Actually, I just realized I am ****ed.
I am in no shape for an Ivy.

Just being desperate. Sorry.

='(

Henrymoore, do you really expect to get different responses in this chance thread than you did in your last one?

No.
But thanks for your reply.

It is just really frustrating that I see people with very low SAT scores (lower than 1800) who seem to think they have a chance at an Ivy League school, just because of their GPA, 4.0.

I also do not see why adcoms constantly stress the impact of your “transcripts”.
Everyone goes to a different school.

I am just sad and frustrated by the fact that all my scores are useless, because one part of my app (GPA) completely nullified my future.

Yes, I am being insecure. But that is the truth.

Now try to put yourself in my position.

It is very disheartening.

Well in your last thread you didn’t mention that you were an international, and unfortunately, I think that makes things significantly more difficult for you.

But I don’t think your situation is hopeless. Do you absolutely HAVE to go to one of HYPSMDCCB? I’m pretty confident that if you lower your expectations just slightly, you’ll get into some decent schools. For example, you’d probably get into UC Berkeley quite easily considering their need for people paying out-of-state tuition. And there are definitely some students of your level there (there are a bunch of us with 4.0 UW GPAs and close to 2400 - I don’t know anybody with 2400, but I know at least 6 people from my high school with 2370-2390 going to Berkeley). There are probably a bunch of other schools that aren’t as difficult to get into that you could also try for, at least to have some safety schools.

Your stats look better than they did a week ago, keep it up.

Thank you for your comment.
No, not really, but I want to reap the benefits of the scores that I received, and also the passion in my ECs.

However, I am not applying to that many schools.
Either I get in to one of the HYPSM, or else, I would have to seek for regional colleges (yes, you can compare them to Community colleges; but not in the US).

So I am not applying to any schools like UCLA (although it is a great school).

If you are trying to suggest that I am a ■■■■■, I suggest that you go dig a cave, and read some books there.

I am tired of you accusing everyone ■■■■■■.

Stop.
