3.6 GPA with C or 4.0 with Withdrawal?

I’m a first semester freshman at at T20 without a business school (think Duke, Vandy, Rice etc) looking towards transferring to a school with a business school and/or closer to home. Right now I have As in all of my classes except for Calculus, which is looking like it will likely be a C+ to C-. This would put my GPA in the 3.7-3.6 range. I have the option to withdrawal from the class and have it not count in my GPA, but I wasn’t sure if AOs would deem the 3.6 with a C range grade or a 4.0 with a withdrawal to be worse. Because it’s business I know math will be heavily scrutinized, my grade is pretty deflated because I had a rough time adjusting to the college-level content, but my grades on recent assignments and exams in the class has improved throughout the semester, so I should be content-wise good for the next level of Calculus next semester.

Stick with it because you are pulling it up and will be ready for the next course next term. If you drop it now you will have to repeat it in the spring and you won’t be able to take the next class.

Stick with it but aim for a C or higher, because most schools won’t accept it as a credit if its a C- or below. If you don’t think you could pull a C at least, withdraw.
