i have about a 3.6 UW. but i do have a much, much higher weighted gpa.
but anyways… can you guys help me out here?
please post test scores too… and wgpa also…
thanks!!!

like I said again, what is your rank?

huh?
well anyway, my rank is about 63/590... if its pertinent
but that's unweighted...

I don't know if it'll be any help, but here were my stats:

3.6 UW
4.0 Weighted (extra .5 for honors and 1.0 for AP)
Main ECs: Jazz guitar and Mock Trial
32 ACT
Undecided

I got into Illinois Wesleyan, Lawrence, and got waitlisted at Grinnell.

Going to Lawrence.

So your around top 10%. This means you will be fine.

son's SAT was 1460, SAT II's 790 780 750 710. 3.6 UW, 35/275. Accepted UChicago, Brandeis, Case, Allegheny. WL Bowdoin, Carleton. All applications RD or EA. Your essays and interviews will be very important! Good luck in your admissions quest.

1450 SAT, 3.6 UW, 23/255, 780/770/700 SAT IIs.

Rejected Dartmouth ED, Harvard (5 gen. legacy), Tufts
WL Brandeis, Middlebury
Accepted Wellesley, University of Maine

Going to Wellesley

rank was top 15% out of 160...3.9 weighted

rejected ucla, brown, upenn
wl duke, stanford
accepted ucsc, ucsd, berkeley

going to berkeley

oh yeah 1440 (1430 one sitting)...690,720,740

1400 (780M, 620V), 690/630/620, ~3.6 UW, 4.0 W, (only top 25% - big difference from yours), mediocre EC's, stellar essays/recs

Rejected @ Carnegie Mellon (SCS - only applied to this one), Cornell (Engineering)
Accepted @ University of Michigan (Engineering), Penn State (Univ. Park), and Johns Hopkins

All of the above are RD's.

Oh yeah...I'm going to Johns Hopkins. Really tough decision... :\ Since all of my stats were mediocre, let me emphasize the importance of essays/recs that got me into JHU and Michigan.

yay! thanks for the influx of messages :) i thought naively thought that i was the only one with a 3.6.. in CC... haha

3.6uw / 3.8w
1380 (760V/620M), 32, 740/680/590 <-- yeah, not so good with the maths
36/368 or something (graduated with "High Honors" on the Honors/High Honors/Highest Honors rank - so top 10% for sure)

Accepted UCSD, UCSC (attending -- but also trying to transfer). Wasn't very clear with what I wanted, applied to reaches and safeties with few/no matches. Also waitlisted at Chicago. That was a crazy year in general, though -- was evacuated from my home about the time applications were due. :P

3.55/4.0 UW rank: 22/315

1430/700/690/620

Accepted: NYU (attending), Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, URochester, BU, BC, UMaryland Honors, Rutgers Honors (recieved money from everywhere except BC, NYU gave me the most) NO Financial AID

Waitlisted: UChicago

Rejected: Columbia, Cornell

My ECs/Essays were pretty good and i think that helped a lot.... screw the ivys...

psh, "i thought naively thought that i was the only one with a 3.6.. in CC"

3.6 W (that's right, weighted)

770/740/620

UCI
Computer Enginnering

Everyone on this board is a a freaking genius to begin with.

I got into NYU with a 3.6 weighted. (3.55 uw)

1300 SAT I
740/730/610/580 SAT IIs

Also accepted at UC Santa Barbara, but not LA or SD. :(

I have a little above a 3.6 unweighted, and 4.15 weighted. I go to a private school and take the hardest course load.
1510 Sat
770,770,780 Sat 2s
Lots of ECs

I'm going to Georgetown. I was also accepted to Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, USC, Claremont Mckenna, Johns Hopkins, and LMU.

3.67 gpa (barely in the top 10 percent at my school)

i had a 1540 (old scale) SAT (800v, 740m, and if you want the equivalent to the new scale, add my 790 writing score for a 2330), and we didn't weight.

i got into bowdoin in EDII, and before they accepted me, i also got into the honors programs at SUNY binghamton and SUNY buffalo.

Wow, this thread has bolstered my confidence, I thought I had absolutely no chance of getting into some of the harder schools I'm applying to (G-Town, Tufts) with ~3.5UW and ~4.0W but now I feel if I do well on my SAT's and ACT's I actually have a chance....hmmm
