I just received a 3.689GPA for my freshman year,
you guys may think its nothing because I'm still in my first year of High School, but I'm so depressed because I originally thought it would have been 3.745..

Would this totally ruin my chances for getting into a top university? In Middle School I was never so stressed out about going to a good university, but after I began enrolling in High School everyone has been pressuring me about my grades..

Any people that got a bad GPA in freshman year and ended up going to a good college? please reply below.. it would definitely help me a lot. Also, how is a 3.689GPA..? My friends are so secretive.

No it won’t. What really matters if you get into a top university is what you plan on doing to your 3.6. Are you going ti try to increase it? Try harder? Taker more challenging classes? Jut try to do better next year.

A 3.689 GPA isn’t so bad, so stop worrying. Realize that there are many students who want to be in your spot right now, so don’t complain. Also you need to realize that you have 3 more years of high school to aim for the GPA you want. Remember there are other factors in getting into a top university/college such as: Extracurricular activities, Test scores, (SAT, SAT Subject Test) dedication, showing interest in desired subjects and rigor of courses taken. So don’t stress over something that can be fixed with hard work. That’s what wrong with Freshman these days, always trying to rush everything and wanting to the best AT EVERYTHING. Hard work is also important, but patience is important too.

Don’t worry about it too much. Showing improvement throughout your high school years will ultimately mean more to a university than your freshman year GPA. Pinpoint what you feel your weaknesses were, and figure out how to change those in your sophomore year.

A big piece of advice I can give you from years of struggling with math is not to be afraid to go to review sessions or ask for extra help when you need it. It pays off. Also, do your homework assignments, they’re easy 100s.

See and Weeknd is doing just fine. He’s not second guessing himself and worrying about things that haven’t happened yet. (At least I don’t think :P) You’ll be fine, OP.

Anyway, a 3.7 is fine (assuming its UW) for most schools. The extremely selective ones probably want something 3.8+ although there’s not a concrete cut off. Also, many schools don’t care about your freshman grades and the ones that do don’t weight them as much as sophomore.
