3.7 GPA freshman year, can I get into NYU if I keep it up?

Just what the title says. Can I get into NYU if I keep it up? Im gonna be a soph now, thanks.

Depends on your rank and your school's level.
But if these factors are so-so, then i'm sure
that u definately have a chance (unless you screw up
other stuff like EC's and SAT's)
According to Princeton Review, NYU's
freshmen's average high school GPA was
like 3.6.

GPA is not the only factor in the admissions process.

NYU has 3.63 (unweighted) listed as the average GPA of admitted students.

Raise it to a 3.9 by senior year, and you're in.

How about Fordham or Boston U? By the way I play soccer (division 1) and used to be on commercials.

HopefullFreshman, 3.7 is weak, honestly...I got into Columbia, but then again, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) and 36 ACT. Peace!

3.7 is not weak. Nobody here is talking about getting into Columbia, either.

Freshman, continue to work hard and ignore useless replies.

Half of these replies are from people who are trying to be funny. A 3.7 is great for freshman year. Keep up the good work and you should be fine.

people who want to be funny or want to brag...of course you got into columbia with a 36 ACT...there were only around 100 people that scored that well!!

You're doing well...keep it up and always try your best...never aim for less than a 4.0

brand, whatever, I know what I got.

lol don't get mad i'm jealous!!! and you should brag.

and you suck...you took my spot at columbia

brand, don't be...I got a 27 in the 7th grade (Duke University Talent Search program), 32 in October 2005 (at the beginning of my senior year), and went in for the kill in April 2006 (right before I graduated).....It took me three times...What's ur score, brand?

P.S. - I'm a living witness...If you can get anything that is 30ish on the ACT (even a mere 30), then you're probably just lazy and you could get a 36 if you wanted it....If some kid can get a 32, 33, or 34, then u can't tell me he/she can't get a 36....36 just takes more precision, that's all..But, anyone over 30 has the brains to get a 36. Peace!

lol ok well that's great news i got a 32 and i sucked hard on that science section (28) and kinda hard on math (31)...so I agree on that one...and the fact that you can take the ACT as many times as you want w/out ever sending a score in is really cool. I'll be taking it again when it's available.

brand, but I got into Columbia with the 32....I was accepted before I ever even got a 36..

oh wow...i'm very happy now :)

brand, 32 is a fairly good score.....I just wanted a 36, because I knew that it'd insure a full ride, that's all...You'll be fine..At least you know you can get into UT-Austin..

lol yes I do know that McCombs will always be there waiting for me if nothing else

My SATS were alot better than ACTs...for some reason that science section tore me up...

what did you use to study?

The Princeton Review's Cracking the ACT, 2006 Edition...Got it at Barnes and Noble...Great book....Also, I collaborated heavily with my AP English Comp./Lit teacher to make sure I got a 36 in the English section as well.

Cool thanks
