I calculated my GPA according to school standards and found that without my low grade in Spanish (around B, B- equivalent to a 2.7/3.0), I would have a 3.9 avg... What is worse is that I dont' feel like I deserved a B-. We did absolutely nothing in class but sing. Yeah. sing. Only problem is that no college will know that will they? I highly doubt it, but any chance they will sort of "disregard" a grade for a language course?

you could attempt to explain your situation in an essay.

Do note waste an essay - or even part of an essay - explaining a "B." If you are concerned about it, have your Counselor detail it in her rec.

possibly u just have some trouble with Spanish.

I have trouble with Calc, but that doesn't mean I go tattle-tale and go off on a rant. Life can be unfair, and this is just a tiny thing.

If you had done better on tests/quizzes, maybe participated more, MAYBE YOU'RE GRADE WOULD BE BETTER.

At some point, YOU MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN GRADES AND STOP PUTTING BLAME ON OTHERS.

Only when you never have tests during the year- ever- and only have a final exam... Its kind of hard to do well as you don't learn anything during the year.

Like I said, there's a reason ur getting the B/B-.

Maybe the teacher is a ***** or is part of the problem.

BUT LIKE I SAID, YOU GOTTA PUT AT LEAST 50% OF THE BLAME ON YOURSELF AND IF YOU DON'T, THEN DON'T EXPECT TO BE HANDED AN A.

bearsfolife, What's with all the captilization?

I have put a lot of the blame on me, although I may not be sounding like it- my grades in Spanish have improved this year with a new teacher - but its the grades of the past 2 years that have affected my GPA, and are worrying me.
