Hey y’all, I was wondering if any students accepted to Brown went in with a 3.7 UW GPA or lower? Any stories?

I was (3.6), but my GPA was top 10% at a well known and competitive high school where roughly 30% of students go to Ivies. In short, looking for a GPA “cutoff” is not going to be worthwhile; it depends on your school and numerous other factors as well. Perhaps your guidance/college counselor would be able to give you a better sense of whether Brown is a feasible option, but we would not be able to.

Uroogla is totally right. I had a 3.6 or 3.7 and wasn’t even in the top 20% of my class but just like Uroogla it was well known and competitive (50% of my class scored 1500+/1600) on the SAT.

I’m in at exact position too! My high school of 800 sent 8 to Harvard this year if thats any indicator, it’s very well known but has a bad history with Brown; accepted kids don’t go and I have a 3.6 which doesn’t cut it for top 20% but Brown’s everything I want in a school… @iwannabe_Brown did you get in/are doing fine?

unfortunately if you read my previous posts I think you can learn a lot more about me than just that I went to brown. Sometimes I worry if something on here will ever come back to bite me somehow. I know years ago I played the “can you figure out who I am based on my posts” game with someone and we were both able to identify each other pretty quickly.

I had a GPA on the high end of that (I think I finished with a 3.77) and was admitted, though my extracurriculars was probably what got me in.

i wanna be brown–sometimes I worry about outing my dd. I just like to pass on knowledge and experience buy I don’t like to id her on a public forum either. I think there was one other Brownie who posts here and who knew her from initials and major. And now I go on the grad school forum…
