3.71UW 2300 SAT scholarship out b/c of GPA?

Just checking in on the Tulane thread today. Congats to gettingaclue on his good news and to fallenchemist for the exciting news about his daughter. Sometimes when I check out the threads at the other schools I find myself wishing that every school had an FC (a person who regularly posts who is both supportive but also highly knowledgeable about the school). Anyway, I imagine that many of the seniors and families are now in “wait and see” mode with respect to their PTA and DHS applications. Hopefully only another couple weeks or so before we hear back.

@‌Ljtjrose

Thanks for that. I have enjoyed our conversations a lot. It does look like it should be no more than 2 more weeks to hear about the awards, maybe even the end of this week. We will see soon, you are right.

@gettingaclue Thanks so much for posting an update and congratulations to your daughter! I’m new to CC. Son is a junior so I am learning so much from all these postings.

@collegemom2boys - I hope you find the forum as helpful as I have. If it is merit aid you are interested in my original post: 2300 we had no idea… is filled with great ideas from CC’ers for schools that give merit and I have updated there recently with results so far.

@gettingaclue‌ I got 20k a year with a 1990 SAT and a 3.79/3.98 GPA with overall strong application. She should at least be getting 22k I’d say

@oregonottoman She got $30,000. :slight_smile:

@gettingaclue Sorry for the delayed response. Ironically, I was in New Orleans…

D2 and I are going down this weekend. D1 quite enjoyed honors weekend two years ago, although she ultimately decided to go elsewhere.

Last time I went to the parent presentations the first day and stayed downtown the second day while D1 went to classes and such. I don’t think it will be a problem at all that you’re not there; the program really is mostly designed for the students. The most important parts from my daughter’s perspective were the overnight and the chance to register for classes.
