Tamil is my first language, and English is my second. Therefore, in freshman year I got a B in Honors Freshman Lit and my GPA tanked. Although I got A minuses in the rest of the classes that year, my GPA started at a 3.61. After that I pulled it up with 3.9/4 in my soph year, and 4.0 my junior year. This year I’m on track for a 3.9 or a 3.95 (B+/A- in bc calc) and my final gpa is a 3.85. Will this hurt me at top schools like the Ivies, Duke, etc?

No. One B freshman year will not hurt your chances.
@sunshine232 i failed to mention that i received a B+ in a PE class (the reason is stupid i’d rather not talk about it…who gets a B+ in gym). It does not count for GPA, but it does show on my transcript. should i be worried about this as well? Other than this, the only B is the Freshman lit class. Thanks, sorry to bother you again.
No. Colleges don’t care about PE.
