So I am applying this fall for graduate programs in educational policy programs.

My cum. GPA at graduation was a 3.86. I maintained over a 3.78 freshmen and sophomore year and earned a 3.99 over my final two years.

But here are some issues.

I have two non-punitive drops, one freshmen year, one senior year.

On record I have four incomplete grades because I was diagnosed with M.S. I subsequently returned to school, completed those incomplete (got 3 A's and 1 A-).

So will this cause a red flag with my admissions packet. I did well on the GRE, 690 Verbal with a 720 Quant. So I am hoping I am in the good.

Your GPA sounds good. It’s not “tarnished” - just needs a little explanation - I would mention somewhere appropriate on the app (like those sections asking, is there anything else you want to explain? types) the MS diagnosis to explain the incompletes - they shouldn’t hold this against you as you did finish those classes with excellent grades (I wouldn’t mention the couple drops, not a big deal is what I have heard)

What schools are you applying to, btw?

Honestly, I think the av. GPA for most ed policy programs is 3.5-3.6ish. With your GPA and GRE, you will have no prob getting accepted. Chill out :)

You should be really aiming for top programs.*

Oh, btw, report back your results…I’m interested in ed. policy as well! :)

Thanks for the response folks.

I am applying to joint programs with a J.D. I took my LSAT (172) as well…I am aiming at Stanford if they let me into their law school for the joint.

But UPenn, Columbia are on my list.
