I'm a high school senior, and I'm a very good student -- I had a perfect 4.0 with the exception of my junior year which was the year I switched schools and had trouble adjusting. Because of one bad year (3.6 during that year), I am currently waitlisted to my top choice UMich. I now have 3 options.
1. Michigan State (MD route not DO)
2. Wayne State w/ Full scholarship and honors college
3. James Madison University in Virginia
4. Spend 1-2 years at Wayne, try transferring to UMich

I've pretty much taken JMU out of the picture since they are more of a business oriented school. I know Wayne has a great pre med program because of all the hospitals in Detroit, but their prestige is sub-par. I am confident I can pull a high 3.9-4.0 at Wayne comparing myself to my old friends that go there now and are also doing well. MSU is the college that is higher ranked, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull off such a high GPA with the increased competition. The plus side to MSU is that they will have better research oppurtunities.

I'm aiming to go to UMich Medical School and they are extremely competitive, I've looked at their class info and a handful of students from MSU and WSU get in every year, 3-4 more from MSU than Wayne.

Should I spend the extra 26K/Year and take the chance of not doing as well as I hope, Or should I take the money and breeze through college?

Thanks
