3 Classes / 14 Credits ?

The norm for a semester at my college is 16 credits. This semester I am currently taking 3 classes at 14 credits (4+4+6). None of these are BS classes. Two are required classes for my major and one is an advanced language class. Do you think it will look bad on my transcript (to employers, law schools, etc.) if I only took 3 classes during one semester (only this semester; I will almost certainly be taking four classes for every semester after this)? I was hoping that taking summer classes and the fact that I have an excess of credits (I will be graduating at least a semester early) would accommodate for a semester in which I took 2 credits less than normal. I might consider a 2 credit course to add onto the 14 credits, but they are extremely rare at my school so I might have a hard time finding them. And yes, I've already emailed my advisor about this, but I thought input from more people might be enlightening.

How many does it take until they push you into part-time status?

12-18 credits is full-time status. So technically you could take 2 classes of 6 credits each and still remain a full-time student. I'm sure that wouldn't look too good though. lol

Seems like 14 is safely above part-time status, but I'd still keep my eyes open for another course if I were you. Below-the-norm is rarely good.

Also, don't expect summer courses to compensate for this concern. If anything, they might compound it -- "Maybe xanthom is taking summer courses intentionally because he can't handle a full courseload."

EDIT: Wow, that sounded harsh. I meant it to sound optimistic, because that's how I feel about your situation. Major miscommunication on my part. Let's try again.

I'd keep my eyes open for another course, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. 14 sounds safely in normal range, even if it's not quite totally normal.

Besides, it's only 1 semester. It can't be that bad.

are you asking or telling
