3 courses per quarter

Hi,

I am attending a rigorous university on the quarter system. I am a freshmen and have been taking 4 courses the first 2 quarters. I realized that with my AP credit, I can simply take 3 courses every quarter and graduate in 4 years with more than enough credits (this also includes getting a possible double major without overlap). Taking 4 was manageable, but courses will only increase in difficulty and I hope to be more involved in extracurriculars and maybe finding a job. I won't spend the extra time bumming around and will be sure to take meaningful and challenging courses. Also, I don't plan on graduating early. Is there anything wrong with this? Will potential employers look unfavorably at my lighter course load? What will business schools and law schools think?

Thanks

As long as you use your free time wisely--get involved with productive work and activities, you should be fine.

Why would you ever take more credits than you need to graduate, unless you're working on a double major? Well, theres no reason to. Sure, if theres some class that interests you later on go for 4 but nobody is going to look down on you for taking a normal course load.

Oh, and do spend some of the extra time bumming around. It's college. Bum around. Sure, do other stuff that interests you too if theres a club or activity but make sure you take some time to relax.
