3 Month SAT Study Plan?

Can someone help me develop a three month SAT study plan? I am planning on taking the SAT on March 10. I have the Blue Book and 500 SAT Vocab flashcards but plan on buying the Direct Hits Vocabulary Book.

What is your current score and what is your target score?

I haven’t taken it yet. I took the PSAT and got a 214. I’m aiming for anything about a 2200.

Well that’s actually a pretty good place to start. My PSAT was lower than yours and I recieved a 2230. So basically, I only can give a few tips and those would be:

Make sure you use the BB practice tests sparingly. Becuase those are the most similar to the actual tests, don’t waste them by not doing them properly or not timed.

STUDY direct hits. That brought me from missing about 3 SC to 1 or even none. Get both volumes if you can because it will give you a more extensive list.

I’m not sure what SAT Vocab flashcards you have, but I had the 500 Princeton Review ones. I suggest that you can use them when you are just laying around, but otherwise, there isn’t much use to them if you are using direct hits. Many of those words are in Direct Hits as well, so study them, but don’t focus too much on them.

If you don’t usually have a full 4 hours to spare on a practice SAT on weekdays, try to do 2-3 sections per day. That will take at most an hour and a half of your time, and then you can spend about a half hour going over what you missed.

On weekends, try to do at least one practice test per weekend. Since you have 3 months, thats about 12 weekends so what I suggest is that you use the Blue Book for these full practice tests. That’s what I did. For the last two tests as well as the section tests, buy a Barrons, Grubers, Princeton Review, any practice test book. They may not be as accurate as BB, but you should only use the BB on full tests to simulate the actual testing environment.

Read CC daily and look at Silverturtles Guide and other tip threads, that always helps because many people post their personal ways of success and sometimes those are more easy to understand.

Last thing I would say is just practice. I am sort of in the same boat in you in the terms that I’m taking the march SAT as well. I hope this helps you with your quest for the score you desire! :)

If you want more authentic SATs, sign up for College Board’s online course. Spend maybe a month using guides and prep books and then a couple weeks before the SAT, step up your studying and start doing more practice sections/essays.
