I just got my AP exam scores today. I got a 5 on AP Biology, but 3 on AP Chem.

Is a 3 on AP Chem exam bad? Will college accept this score for credit? I literally only studied 3 day for the exam, since I had the exam right after Bio.

My dream schools are USC and Boston College. Do you think they will accept a 3 on AP Chem exam???

A three is average. It basically means that you have a good handle on the material, but have not mastered everything about the material like the “5” you got on the Biology exam.

Most reputable schools will not give you course credit for that, however I would call the colleges and ask them if a “3” is acceptable for credit at their school. Some colleges do.

If you get a 3, it would be tough to get credit. Also, getting a 3 might mean you are ready to take the college level course yet. I would recommend just taking first year Chemistry in college and not skipping ahead, your grade might suffer.

I got a 1 on AP Chem. Trust me, it’s not a huge deal. If you don’t get the credit then you probably shouldn’t be in their second level chem class, simple as that. Don’t try to put yourself in a class that’s above what you are ready for.
