I took the AP English Language Composition last year, my Sophomore year.
Although I did not do the second essay regarding immigration, (I hope we can talk about them now) I still managed to get a 3 on the exam. Is this due to the readers not reading all of the tests or is it because I scored high on MC and other two essays?

Disclaimer: I am not sure how the AP Language scoring goes.

Based upon the general AP scoring, I am assuming that your high MC and other essays got you the score of 3.

Yes, those two factors would explain it. As far as I've been told, everything you turn in gets read and graded.

Thanks

^ Haha I'd like to see that essay. Sounds right up my alley. :]

I was really happy that day so I though anything goes. I took a quote from Hamlet regarding how men fight over property and yada yada.

So I linked that to communist ideology of property belonging to the state...thus no one can fight over it because it doesn't belong to anyone.

I see his grading was justified.

Well, SteslaS, I got a 3 too, but on English Lit. I only did 2 essays (more like 1 and 3/4) and skipped 10 mc. So I was wondering the same thing that you asked as well.

A friend of mine got a 3 on AP lang and skipped the first essay. She said she dominated the MC though, so I think that may explain it.

Do we get out booklets where we wrote the answer?

if you took the regular AP exam and not a late/make-up, then you can order your essay booklets for a fee. The booklets/essays aren't graded or anything though.

MC counts for a lot. It doesn't seem right to skip an entire essay & not completely support another & still get a 3. I have seen very good writers get 3's. It won't "hurt" a good writer to have to take the freshman writing class in college. It CAN be a mistake for a so-so writer to skip it, though. If you really don't write that well, you might want to consider taking the intro course in college ... it will make the higher level courses a lot easier.

Where do you order them from and how much?

It's possible. My friend, who's really good at English, could've easily left one of the essays blank and still have gotten a 5. o_o"
