To make a long story short, I was unable to put all my efforts into studying for the AP exams last year which evidently led to a 3 on the AP World History Exam. I've taken 4 other AP's and received 5s, however will this 3 on AP World hurt my chances at select colleges or should I not worry too much about this? Thanks!

should not hurt at all, you dont even have to report AP scores untill you get in

Colleges don’t see your AP scores when applying? Really?

1325948 is wrong, at least from the knowledge I’ve gathered. You self-report your AP scores on your Common App. Colleges want to see your score, because if you don’t report it they usually assume you either didn’t take the test or got a 1 on the exam.

A 3 is nothing to worry about, and is a completely acceptable exam result. I would feel comfortable reporting a 3.

Okay that sounds more like it. Thanks @silverdrop

You don’t have to self-report. It is optional. AP scores have little to no bearing on admission. A 3 would not cause a problem. It is a passing score and could get you credit at some schools.
